Igaliko, Greenland, is a historic settlement founded in 1783 by trader and colonial administrator Anders Olsen and Greenlandic wife Tuperna. It is best known for the nearby Norse ruins of Garðar, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visitors can explore the ruins of the 12th-century Norse settlement, including the church, farm, and bishop's gravestone. The town offers attractions such as the Saint Nicholas cathedral, where visitors can experience Viking history. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy marked hiking trails with stunning views of icebergs in Tunulliarfik Fjord and the Qooroq glacier. For a longer adventure, hikers can embark on a 4-5 day trek to Qaqortoq, passing by the famous Norse ruins of South Greenland at Hvalsey.
