Kampot, Cambodia is set to emerge on the global stage with the ongoing construction of the $1.5 billion Kampot Logistics and Multipurpose Port. This ambitious project spans over 600 hectares and is spearheaded by the Kampot Logistics and Port Firm Limited. The port's strategic location along the Bassac River positions it at the forefront of Cambodia's logistics network, facilitating efficient transportation of agricultural goods both domestically and internationally. The first phase of the port's development, backed by a $200 million investment, encompasses the establishment of container fields, special economic zones, logistics centers, and more. Upon completion in 2025, the port will boast a capacity of 300,000 TEUs, with plans to expand to 600,000 TEUs by 2030. The complex is designed to handle ships of up to 100,000 tonnes, contributing significantly to Cambodia's economic and social progress. With its potential to alleviate congestion and enhance trade connectivity, the Kampot Logistics and Multipurpose Port is poised to elevate Kampot's economic significance and create around 10,000 employment opportunities.
