Woodlark Island, also known as Muyua, is the main island of the Woodlark Islands archipelago, located in the Solomon Sea, Papua New Guinea. The island has a rich history dating back to the 1830s when the Australian whaling ship Woodlark first visited. Today, the estimated population is around 6,000 people with Kulumadau being the largest settlement. Woodlark Island boasts a diverse geography with its volcanic core, limestone belt, and active coral reefs. Visitors can explore Mount Kabat, the highest point of the island at 240m, and marvel at the unique flora and fauna.
